Statement on Governor Rendell's Second Inauguration

Harrisburg, PA - Standing before a crowd of several hundred in the blustery

January wind, Governor Rendell began his second term today with a pledge to

continue to build a market for renewable energy generation in Pennsylvania.

"We're eager to work with Governor Rendell and legislators on both sides of

the aisle to ensure Pennsylvania continues to be a national leader on

renewable energy policy," said Michael Fedor, executive director of the

Pennsylvania League of Conservation Voters. "The governor has called on us

not to rest and not to be satisfied with the status quo. We will certainly

work to unite voters in efforts that create jobs while protect the

environment and making our nation more secure."

In his inaugural address, Governor Rendell made special note of the passage

of Growing Greener II, and he ranked the environment among his highest

priorities in his second term.
