NM Unveils "Pledge to Protect New Mexico"

I am pleased to announce that CVNM Education Fund has released a new website that tracks the responses of state legislators to a pledge to protect New Mexico’s environment. The Pledge to Protect New Mexico, which was sent to all 70 state representatives and representatives-elect and 42 state senators, affirms that the signee agrees not to support any measures that would weaken existing environmental protections.

New Mexicans want and deserve clean air and water. We aren’t willing to gamble with the health of our families and communities, and we shouldn’t be forced to do so. As transparency and accountability of elected officials have become more important, New Mexicans deserve to know which of our legislators are committed to ensuring that we have clean air to breathe and clean water to drink.

Take Action

Please visit the Pledge to Protect New Mexico website, www.cvnmef.org/pledge, to find out if your state legislators have signed the pledge, then contact your legislators to let them know that the health of your family and community depend on clear air and water, and that you need their help. Suggestions for how to thank them for signing the Pledge, or encourage them to sign if they have not, are available on the website.

We also encourage you to share the Pledge to Protect NM website with friends, neighbors, co-workers, on facebook, or in whatever way you can. To forward this email, please use the "forward to a friend" link on the right.
