Governor Bill Richardson Appoints Conservationist Sandy Buffett to New Mexico Game Commission

SANTA FE - Governor Bill Richardson today announced the appointment of Sandy Buffett to the New Mexico Game Commission. Buffett currently serves as executive director of Conservation Voters New Mexico.

"Sandy Buffett is a strong advocate for New Mexico's wildlife and open spaces," said Governor Richardson. "We are closely allied on fighting to protect the Valle Vidal and Otero Mesa and her experience building Conservation Voters New Mexico into a real power will serve her well on the Game Commission."

Buffett is a graduate of Colorado College and holds a masters in International Economic Development from American University's School of International Service in Washington, DC. She has served as a project coordinator with the National Wildlife Federation and a research consultant with the World Resources Institute.

Buffett replaces David Henderson whose term expired at the end of the year.
