Events and Development Coordinator
Overall position description Washington Conservation Voters (WCV) and Washington Environmental Council (WEC) seek an Events and Development Coordinator.
The primary responsibilities for the position will include:
Point person for WCV’s annual 750+ person breakfast in October
Point person for other events such as small house parties, and donor appreciation/cultivation events
Point person for WEC’s 500+ person auction in November under the supervision of WEC’s Development Manager
Database management and gift acknowledgement for WCV
This is an excellent opportunity for a creative person with strong event planning and organizational skills to gain experience and grow professionally in the non-profit arena. We are seeking someone with a collaborative, can-do attitude who is able to work both independently and as part of a team. Successful candidates will enjoy event planning and execution, have the ability to delegate to volunteers, work well under pressure, and be able to track many details. This is a full-time position that reports to the Development Director and the Development Manager. Evenings and weekends will be required during the busy fall months (September – November). The starting pay range is $30,000-35,000 DOE. WCV’s compensation package includes health, vision and dental insurance and exceptional professional development opportunities.
Organization information
Washington Conservation Voters works closely and shares office space with our partners, Washington Environmental Council (WEC). The “Development Team” consists of staff people from both organizations. The Events and Development Coordinator would operate as a staff person of Washington Conservation Voters as a part of this Development Team. Approximately 30% of his or her time (mostly in the summer and fall months) would be devoted to Washington Environmental Council’s annual auction.

Responsibilities
Event Planner
Point person for all aspects of our 750+ person annual breakfast and other events throughout the year.
Point person for 500+ person annual auction under the supervision of the Development Manager (the person in change of the event in years past).
Database Administrator
Manage DataBase to support all aspects of donor tracking including database audits and running periodic and ad hoc reports.
Provide day-to-day technical guidance to staff regarding the database, data entry and timely acknowledgement of gifts.
Member of Development Team
Provide assistance, as needed on events or other activities requiring the participation of all Development staff
Qualifications
Ability to work in an environment in which primary job focus may vary and change quickly
Work as an effective team member
Demonstrates customer-service orientation
Accept guiding principles as personal work guide
Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Minimum Experience Desired
Successful experience as the point–person for at least one 300+ person event
Bachelors Degree
1-2 years experience in fundraising and/or experience managing large events
Excellent command of database management best practices
Proficiency in MS Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook
