Description:
The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) is a national non-profit organization that works to turn environmental values into national priorities. Summary:
The Development Assistant supports the operations of the Development Division, including database management, gift processing and acknowledgements, invoicing, financial reporting and reconciliation, production of the major donor mailings, and providing administrative support to Development Division.
Responsibilities:
· Work with Finance Division to process incoming mail, log checks, code and enter high donor gifts, grants and bundling checks, and process major donor and event credit card donations.
· Produce daily high donor reports and events revenue reports.
· Ensure correct tracking and allocation of donations.
· Draft and produce all major donor, grants, and special event acknowledgements. Update acknowledgement language as necessary.
· Ensure compliance with FEC regulations and division business practices.
· Coordinate production of major donor mailings, by conducting mail list pulls, merging the letters and response devices, printing all mailing pieces or working with an outside vendor to get all pieces printed, organizing the assembling and mailing of the packages, creating mail source codes and updating the database promotions.
· Track and analyze expenses and results of high donor mailings; maintain and update high donor mail binder.
Process all Development Division invoices in accordance with budget specifications.
· Support the Director of Database Management and Development Operations with routine database maintenance and special data projects.
· Make updates to donor database as requested or noted in returned mail from all programs.
Complete expense reports for the Senior Vice President for Development and submit expense reports for Major Gifts Officers.
Provide administrative and programmatic support to the Director of Foundation Relations, including proposals, reports, and workplace giving program applications.
· Communicate with donors on issues of gift allocation and compliance.
· File donor correspondence (copies of acknowledgment letters and donation materials).
· Maintain Development Division drive; organize, update and purge on a regular basis.
Prepare monthly Development Division Meeting Agenda.
Coordinate Development Division reporting at weekly staff meetings.
Maintain division supplies including packet materials, letterhead, and stamps.
Provide administrative and program support to the Senior Vice President for Development as needed.
Provide administrative and logistical support to Development Division.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Education: College degree required.
· Work experience: Experience working in a non-profit, political organization or campaign desirable; database experience preferred.
· Skills: Good written and oral communications skills, excellent skills in word processing and spreadsheets (Windows, Microsoft Word, and Excel required, PowerPoint preferred), and familiarity with phone systems. Attentive to details, and adept at maintaining systems for easy access to information and data.
· Capabilities: Solid judgment; critical thinking skills; a sense of teamwork and community; ability to handle multiple tasks and work for several people; highly organized; commitment to environmental protection and mission of LCV.
