Position Summary:

An experienced organizer to split their time between 1) the California League of Conservation Voters (CLCV) as an Online Organizer, leading online engagement strategies for CLCV’s members and other activists, and 2) the CLCV Education Fund as a Program Associate, helping to organize the legislative priorities and work of the larger environmental community in California. The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently and with a positive attitude in a fast-paced political environment—one that requires flexibility as we embark on new campaigns and collaborate with allies on priority races, legislation, ballot initiatives, and more.

50% Online Organizer (CLCV)

The Online Organizer has proven experience with online advocacy and fundraising, email outreach, online-to-offline mobilization strategies, news and social media, and creating innovative campaigns to grow CLCV’s online community, presence, and fundraising capacity.

The organizer will be skilled at creating compelling email messages and appeals that result in members taking action or donating to CLCV. They will be experienced at identifying and engaging the most active members and other activists, creating opportunities for individuals to move up a “chain of engagement” with CLCV, and developing procedures to evaluate the success of various engagement methods. Experience producing content for blogs, internal & external publications and social media networks is also desired. The ideal candidate will already have relationships with reporters, editors and bloggers at key online news and media outlets, and will assist the Communications Director with outreach to those additional target audiences.
